Body Care That Heals

The Body

Our Sacred Temple

By Carie | Agape Love – Beauty Rooted in Grace

“This body is not mere flesh, it is the holy ground where heaven touches earth.  Every heartbeat is a hymn, every breath a prayer.  Treat it as the temple it is”.

Our body is far more than flesh and bone, it is the living temple that houses the soul, the place where spirit and matter meet.  From the moment we draw our first breath, until the moment we pass back into Heaven’s embrace, our body is the scared vessel that God has entrusted to us for our journey through life.

To love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, also means to honour the body He has given us.  It is not simply something we “have”, it is part of who we are in this life, our vehicle, our sanctuary, our dwelling place.

When we choose to care for our body, nourishing it, strengthening it and protecting it, we care for the very home of our soul.  Just as we would tend to our earthly experiences, our family, our homes, our vocation, we are called to tend to ourselves with love.  This is not vanity; it is stewardship, it is gratitude in action.

A healthy body supports a clear mind and a peaceful heart.  It carries us through our calling, sustains us in our relationships and enables us to move through this life with energy and joy.  When we neglect it, our journey can become harder, our steps heavier.  But when we nurture it, our path becomes smoother and we are better able to fulfill the purposes God has set before us.

Our time on earth is a scared pilgrimage, a privilege we should not take for granted.  The stronger and healthier our body, the more gracefully and joyfully we can travel, right up until the day we step back into eternity.

Your body is not just yours; it belongs to the One who made it and has been entrusted to you for this season of life.  Treat it with love, honour it as holy, protect it as you would protect any treasure, because that is exactly what it is.

Blessing:

“May you walk gently in the house of your soul, tending it with love and honour.  May your body be strong for the journey, your heart light for the road ahead and your spirit ever lifted toward the One who gave you breath.

Yoga

Meaning;  Union for Body, Mind and Spirit.

“In every breath, a sacred thread, binding spirit, mind and flesh.  Yoga is the dance of union, where all parts become one”.

Consistency Matters – My goal 5-7 times a week, in the morning.

The word yoga comes from the ancient Sanskrit root “yuj” meaning to yoke, to join, or to unite.  At its heart, yoga is about connection – the uniting of body, mind and spirit and the harmony of our inner life with the Divine.

Yoga is more than movement.  It is a practice that nourishes the whole person.  Through gentle, yet challenging postures, mindful breathing and moments of stillness, yoga strengthens the body, calms the mind and refreshes the soul.

When we practice yoga, we are not just stretching muscles, we are honouring the sacred vessel that carries our spirit through this earthly journey.  A supple, strong and well-nourished body enables us to live fully from our first breath to our last, carrying us gracefully through all the seasons of our life.

Yoga helps keep us strong, so our body can sustain us.  It keeps us supple, so we can move with ease and flexibility.  It keeps us joyful, as our breath and energy flow more freely.  It keeps us alive, in every sense of the word, body awake, mind clear and spirit uplifted.

When body, mind and spirit are in harmony, we can walk our path with greater peace, strength and joy.  Yoga is one way to care for this temple we have been given, so it may carry us well, right until the day we step back into eternity.

Yoga Provides –  The Steadfast Grace of Balance.

As we journey through our 50’s, 60’s and beyond, one of life’s quiet treasures is the ability to stand with ease, to walk with confidence, to move with grace, without fear of falling.  Balance is not just a physical skill, it is a gentle harmony between body, mind and spirit.  Yet, with the passing years, this harmony can be tested.

Through the steady, mindful practice of yoga, we renew and strengthen this gift.  Each pose becomes an act of trust, training the muscles, awakening the stabilizing core, fine-tuning the subtle reflexes that keep us sure-footed.  Our mind learns to soften it’s fear of missteps and our body responds with graceful steadiness, which is incredibly attractive for male or female.

When we can walk into each day knowing our feet are firmly grounded and our body will not let us down, there is profound freedom.  We move forward with quiet assurance, lifted by the awareness that balance is not lost to time, standing tall, walking with purpose and passion, shoulders back, head up high, because we have nurtured our body by presence, patience and love.

Blessing:

May your steps be steady and your heart untroubled.  May your body rise to meet you with unwavering support.  And may you move through the world in peace, balance, grounded and free.

The Rejuvenating Power of

Fascia Care

Within the sacred architecture of the body lies a miracle of connection – the fascia.  This living, three-dimensional web is not simply a wrapping for our muscles, bones and organs, it is a continuous, unbroken fabric that threads through every structure, down to the cellular level.  It is the body’s great communicator, transmitting force, movement and sensation, uniting us in a seamless whole.

Consistency Matters – My goal twice a week, time commitment, full body facia blast 1 hour, I have broken this down in my videos to individual parts of the body, so it’s easy for you to follow.

Over time, this delicate yet resilient network can become dense and matted from stress, inactivity, injury, or repetitive patterns.  The flow of hydration, nutrients, and energy slows and the body begins to feel heavy, tight, or less responsive.

Ashley Black’s fascia blasting tools awaken this vast inner web.  With each rhythmic, intentional stroke, adhesions melt away, the fascia rehydrates and its pathways are restored.  Circulation surges, lymphatic flow clears and the environment around every cell becomes vibrant and nourished.  Collagen springs back to life, firming and lifting the skin from within.  Cellulite smooths, tone improves and muscles move freely once more.

This is not just skin-deep care, it is cellular rejuvenation.  It is the release of long-held tension, the return of supple, responsive movement and the quiet joy of inhabiting a body that feels renewed from its very core.

The Sensual, Holistic Ritual of Fascia Care

Fascia Blasting is not only a gift of renewal, it is a deeply sensual and nurturing ritual for the whole self.  As the tools glide over your skin, there is a rhythm and warmth that awakens the senses.  The gentle pressure, the flowing strokes, the subtle release in each layer of tissue, it is like giving yourself a personalised massage.

The experience deepens when you turn it into a sanctuary.  The body responds best when the fascia is warm and pliable, so you begin by surrounding yourself with heat and comfort.  Perhaps you run a hot bath infused with rosemary, my favourite, or some other herb or oil that tantalizes your senses.  Steam curling around you, your favourite organic oils within reach, I personally love organic coconut oil. Candles flicker softly, music plays and maybe you sip a glass of wine, while you’re listening to music.

If you’re lucky enough to have a fire, you might spread a soft rug before the flames, letting their beautiful ambience, glow and warmth sink into your skin.  You oil your body generously, breathing in the aroma of botanicals and fascia blast in absolute warmth and comfort.  Each stroke melts away tension, stimulates circulation and infuses your muscles with a new life, signaling to your body, I love you, I care about you.

This is more than a beauty care, it is movement, massage and meditation in one.  A time when you are fully present with yourself, attuned to every sensation and committed to both the strength and softness of your body.  You emerge not only glowing and supple, you skin glowing with the memory of youth, nourished, restored and deeply at peace.

Blessing:

May your moments of care be steeped in warmth and beauty.  May your touch bring freedom to every layer of you.  And may you rise from your ritual renewed – in body, mind and spirit.

The Joyful Medicine of

Dance & Music

There is a rhythm that lives in all of us, a quiet pulse beneath the surface, waiting to be set free.  Dance is the body’s way of celebrating that rhythm.  It is movement without apology, freedom and abandonment, your joy made visible.

For me, Salsa and Bachata is a weekly embrace with life itself, a chance to let the music lead, my feet and body following the beat like a friend.  Even when I am not on the dance floor, I practice for five minutes each day, not out of duty, but for the sheer delight of feeling my body responding to the music, with grace, ease, strength and rhythm.

It doesn’t end there.  Music finds me in the shower, where I dance beneath the water’s rhythm and sing into the steam.  It flows into my day through melodies that make my heart lift, my hips sway almost without thought.  Dance becomes more than a pastime, it is a love letter to life, a reminder that joy belongs in the body, captivated by our senses.

In these moments, the mind softens, the body feels alive and the spirit is lifted beyond the weight of everyday cares.  Whether in a dance class, a kitchen, a shower, or simply moving in your own space, music and dance weave together a kind of alchemy, releasing tension, awakening creativity and reconnecting us with the essence of being fully alive.

Blessing:

May the music find you, wherever you are.  May your body always answer its call and may your days be filled with music and dance, for the feeling of joy and freedom.

Fuel for the Sacred Vehicle

By the time we reach our 50’s, 60’s and beyond, our body has carried us through decades of living, through joy, challenges, growth – spiritually, physically and mentally and change.  It is the most remarkable vehicle we will ever be given and with care, it can continue to serve us with vitality, strength and grace.

To keep this vehicle running at its highest peak, we must give it the finest fuel.  Our bodies change with age – metabolism shifts, muscles and bones need more support and recovery takes a little longer, so the quality of what we eat matters more than ever.  Every bite we take is either building us up, or wearing us down.

Nourishment at this stage means food that truly serves the body;
  • Plenty of colourful vegetables and fruits to flood the body with antioxidants and support the immune system.
  • Quality proteins – fish, eggs, legumes, organic meats – to keep muscles strong and aid repair.
  • Healthy fats – avocado, olive oil, ghee for cooking, nuts, seeds – for brain sharpness and hormone balance.
  • Bone-friendly foods – calcium-rich greens, seeds and mineral dense broths to keep our frame strong.
  • Hydration – pure water and herbal teas to keep every system flowing.

It also means letting go of what no longer serves us; refined sugars, heavily processed foods and excessive alcohol, all of which drain energy, inflame the body and hasten the wear and tear on our precious vehicle.

Eating well in our later decades is not about deprivation, it is about honouring ourselves, it is about joy.  It’s about savouring food that gives us energy for the things we love, keeps our steps light, our minds clear and our hearts strong.  When we fuel our body with care, being mindful of what it needs, we gift ourselves more years of confident movement, radiant health and the freedom to do the things that make life beautiful

The Price of Neglecting the Quality of our Nourishment

The food we choose to fuel our bodies has a profound impact on our health and vitality.  When nourishment is overlooked or compromised, the consequences can be serious and far reaching.

Scientific evidence consistently shows that poor dietary choices contribute significantly to many of the most common and preventable health challenges, including heart disease, diabetes, certain cancers and chronic inflammation.  Diets lacking in whole, nutrient rich foods, especially fresh vegetables, fruits and wholesome proteins are closely linked to a higher risk of these conditions.

Conversely, consuming excessive processed and sugary foods has been shown to increase the risk of illness and premature decline, affecting not only physical health but also energy, mental clarity and emotional well-being.

The reality is clear; our bodies respond powerfully to the quality of fuel we provide.  Neglecting this sacred nourishment can gradually diminish strength, resilience and joy in our living.

But with mindful care, choosing foods that support and sustain us, we can transform our health and vitality at any age, honouring the body as the incredible vehicle it is.

Understanding Disease as Dis-Ease

Disease is more than a medical diagnosis, it is a whisper from the body, a message that something within is out of harmony.  The word itself holds a powerful truth; dis-ease.  It is the absence of ease, the body’s way of telling us it is struggling to find balance, comfort and peace.

When our nourishment, movement, rest, or emotional wellbeing are neglected, the body can no longer flow freely in health.  It carried tension, inflammation and imbalance, all signs that it is under strain.  This state of dis-ease is not a punishment, but an invitation.

An invitation to slow down, to listen deeply and to nurture the whole self with patience and love.  The body speaks in symptoms and signals so that we might awaken to its needs and respond with care.

Through kindness in how we nourish, move and tend to ourselves, we can support the body’s natural wisdom to heal and return to ease.  Disease, then, becomes a teacher, guiding us back to harmony, resilience and a deeper connection with our sacred vessel.

The Sacred Memory Held Within the Body

Through kindness in how we nourish, move and tend to ourselves, we support the body’s natural wisdom to heal and return to ease.

But beyond healing lies an even deeper truth, the body is a sacred keeper of memory.  Every experience, every emotion, every moment of joy or pain leaves its gentle imprint within our cells, muscles and facia.  This memory is woven through the very fabric of our being, carrying stories that words alone cannot tell.

These memories shape how we move, how we feel and even how we breathe.  Sometimes tension or discomfort arises as echoes of past moments, unresolved grief, old injuries, or deep emotions quietly held within the body’s structure.

To honour this sacred memory is to open a tender dialogue with our vessel.  When we listen with compassion, gentle movement and loving touch, whether through yoga, facia care, dance and music, or mindful presence, we can release what no longer serves us and awaken the body’s innate intelligence.

In this unfolding, the body becomes more than a vessel; it becomes a wise companion, guiding us toward wholeness, peace and grace.

The Generational Wisdom Within Our Bodies

The intelligence held within our bodies does not belong to us alone, it is woven through generations, a living inheritance passed down like an unseen thread connecting us to those who came before us.

Our cells carry echoes of ancestral experiences, resilience and survival, with stories embedded not just in our memory, but also in our biology.  This generational wisdom shapes how our bodies respond to the world, how we heal and how we hold space for both pain and joy.

Recognising this deep lineage invites profound respect for the body as a vessel of ancient knowledge and collective strength.  It reminds us that caring for ourselves is also an act of honouring those who walked before us and a gift to those who will come after us.

Through practices of mindful nourishment, movement and gentle presence, we participate in this ongoing flow of healing and wisdom, continuing the legacy of love that carries us forward.

Blessing:

May you feel the strength of your ancestors within your bones.  May their wisdom guide your healing and your joy.  And may your sacred vessel carry the light of generations yet to come.

A Closing Word on Caring for the Body, our Vehicle through Life, our Sacred Vessel.

As we move gently into the later chapters of life, the body becomes more than a vessel, it is our steadfast companion, our sacred home.  The simple movements we may take for granted, getting up and down off the floor, climbing in and out of bed, putting on and off our shoes, having the strength to open a jar, are profound acts of freedom, grace and independence.

Maintaining and caring for our body is a loving investment in our independence, our joy and our ability to fully engage with life’s everyday wonders.  Through nourishment, mindful movement, tender self-care and presence, we nurture the very foundation of our being.

This care is not just about longevity; it is about quality of life.  It is about honouring the temple that carries our soul, so we may continue to walk, dance, stretch and embrace each day with confidence and ease.

Blessing:

May you move forward with love for your body, cherishing every small motion as a gift.  May your sacred vessel serve you well, carrying your with strength, comfort and peace into all the years ahead.
