Consistency.
Consistency is the most important part of skincare because of how your skin works Biologically and how products deliver results and here’s why.
Think of skincare like fitness – you don’t see muscles from going to the gym once; you see them from repetition and maintenance.
Skin Renewal Takes Time.
- Skin cells’ turnover typically takes about 55-75 days in our 50’s and between 60-90 days in our 60’s.
- Active ingredients – like retinoids, vitamin C and exfoliating acids, need multiple skin cycles to show noticeable results. Which is why consistency is so very important.
- Stopping and starting interrupts this process, preventing cumulative benefits.
I think of skincare like self-love – it’s the little, loving things you do every day that create long-term beauty and confidence. With steady care, your skin can truly glow from the inside out.
At Agape Love, we believe true beauty starts with healthy, radiant skin. That’s why I personally use the Obagi Nu-derm System. A dermatologist recommended medical-grade skincare designed to renew and transform your complexion from within.
The Obagi Nu-Derm System is a complete, step-by-step regimen formulated to;
- Brighten uneven skin tone.
- Reduce the appearance of dark spots and hyperpigmentation.
- Minimise fine lines and wrinkles.
- Restore a healthy, youthful glow.
This is why consistency matters, the Nu-derm System is not a quick fix – it’s a transformation journey.
With consistent daily use, most users see visible results as per below making daily, uninterrupted use crucial, for achieving and maintaining these results.
- 50’s: Many start seeing meaningful improvements by 6-8 weeks, with full results in 16-20 weeks.
- 60’s: May take closer to 8-12 weeks for noticeable changes, with full results in 20-24 weeks, due to slower natural renewal of skin cell turnover.
Typical Timeline.
Weeks 1-6:
- Mild redness, flaking, or dryness as skin adjust.
- Early brightening and improved texture may be noticeable.
Weeks 7-12:
- Dark Spots begin to fade.
- Skin tone becomes more even.
- Fine lines may soften.
Weeks 13-24:
- Full transformation is usually visible.

- Sun damage and pigmentation significantly reduced.

Step 4 – Blender + Retinoid (Tretinoin)
- Blender (4% hydroquinone) works with tretinoin for deeper pigment correction.,
- Retinoid promotes cell turnover, smooths fine lines, and boosts collagen.
Red Light Therapy
Red Light Therapy has become one of the most talked about, non-invasive skincare treatments because it works deep within the skin to stimulate natural healing and rejuvenation.
Consistency Matters
My goal is 4-5 times per week.
Here’s why it’s so effective for the face, neck, chest and hands.
Tip: I do this before I get out of bed in the morning, it takes me 20 minutes and I generally listen to a meditation while I’m doing it, so very relaxing.
Stimulates Collagen and Elastin.
- Red and near-infrared light penetrates the skin and energise fibroblast cells, which produce collagen and elastin.
- This helps firm the skin, reduce fine lines and wrinkles and improves elasticity.
Boosts Cellular Energy.
- Red light stimulates mitochondria, the “powerhouse” of your skin cells, enhancing their ability to repair and regenerate.
- This leads to faster healing and improved overall skin health.
Reduces Inflammation and Redness.
- Calms irritated skin, making it beneficial for rosacea, acne, and post-procedure recovery.
- Help reduce swelling and puffiness.
Improves Circulation.
- Increases blood flow to the treated area, delivering more oxygen and nutrients to skin cells.
- Results in a healthy, radiant glow.
Speeds Up Skin Renewal.
- Helps the skin naturally shed damaged cells and regenerate fresher, smoother skin.
Fascia Massage
Gentle Fascia Massage for a Naturally Radiant Face.
At Agape Love, we believe in nurturing beauty through care and balance. Our Gentle Fascia Massage, inspired by Ashley Black’s renowned Fascia Blaster tools and technique, is designed specifically for the delicate skin of your face.
This soothing massage helps release tightness and tension in the fascia – the connective tissue beneath your skin – without harsh pressure or bruising. By gently stimulating these layers, we encourage circulation, oxygen and blood flow, and natural collagen production, leaving your skin refreshed and glowing.
Benefits of Gentle Facial Fascia Massage:
- Improves skin tone and texture for a youthful, lifted appearance.
- Enhances lymphatic drainage, reducing puffiness and under-eye bags.
- Softens expression lines by relieving muscle and fascia tension.
Boosts natural collagen and elastin for firmer, smoother skin. - Promotes healthy circulation for a radiant, natural glow.
Why Gentle Matters:
You need to be sensible and gentle, these are hard plastic tools and therefore can bruise, gentle is the key.
Tip: You do not need to apply force, these tools should gently slide over a well-oiled face, Ashley Black has her own oil, I like organic coconut oil, but any oil safe to be used on your face is fine. These are better used if you heat the skin, so awesome in a bath, in front of a fire, or by heating the face with a face cloth.
Consistency Matters – My goal is twice per week, and I combine this with my full body facia blasting, which I will cover in detail under body care that heals.
Microneedling
At Agape Love, Microneedling is offered as part of a holistic skincare approach, working hand-in-hand with treatments like Obagi Nu-Derm System, Red Light Therapy and Gentle Facial Fascia Massage, to accelerate skin renewal and achieve lasting transformation.
Microneedling is considered one of the most effective non-surgical treatments for rejuvenating and repairing the skin. I always use a Health Professional, especially for deeper treatments.
Depth: 0.5 – 2.5mm
Frequency: Every 4-6 weeks.
Here’s why it’s so beneficial:
Stimulates Collagen and Elastin.
- Tiny, controlled micro-injuries trigger the skin’s natural healing response.
- Boosts collagen and elastin production, making skin firmer, plumper, and smoother.
Reduces Fine Lines and Wrinkles.
- Increased collagen softens existing lines and prevents new ones from forming.
- Gives a more youthful, refreshed appearance over time.
Improves Skin Texture and Scarring.
- Helps smooth out acne scars, enlarged pores, and rough patches.
- Creates a more even, refined skin surface.
Enhances Product Absorption.
- Micro-channels created during treatment allow serums and active ingredients (like vitamin C or hyaluronic acid) to penetrate deeper, boosting effectiveness.
Evens Skin Tone and Fades Pigmentation.
- Breaks up areas of excess pigmentation, improving sun damage and melasma.
- Restores a more uniform, radiant complexion.
Minimal Downtime, Natural Results.
- Non-surgical, minimally invasive, and safe for most skin types.
- Skin heals quickly while results develop naturally over weeks.
